The Hiarnet method is a rockfall protection net that significantly enhances the shock absorption function of the entire barrier surface through a flexible and robust high-strength wire mesh and cushioning devices, allowing for efficient capture of falling rocks. 【Features】 - It can accommodate rockfall energy of up to 1400 kJ. - Performance verification tests have been conducted in accordance with the Rockfall Countermeasure Handbook (December 2017), confirming reliable performance. - Full-scale model tests using one of the smallest in Japan (effective net height of 9m × net width of 10m) have been conducted, confirming the retention of energy capture functionality. - Its lightweight and simple structure allows for construction without the need for vertical and horizontal rope tensioning or fixation work with clips, enabling a shorter construction period. - The minimal use of wire ropes and clips contributes to cost reduction.
